What is fine art photography and how is it different from other types of photography?
I’m sure everyone has heard the phrase “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. Well, fine art photography is sort of like that. There is no universally agreed meaning or definition. For us here at Team 22 Portraits, Fine Art Photography refers to photographic enhancement, making the image the best it can possibly be. Our team has perfected the “art” of digital painting as part of our fine art category. Below is an example of a photograph that has been enhanced by the digital painting process.

What is done to the photograph in order to be digitally painted?
As you can see from the above photo, certain elements were deleted from the original and more appropriate images were “painted” in. The background has been changed, the dots removed from the child’s dress and the text removed from the hats. The image is color corrected and an overall warmness has been added.
What kind of photo makes a great “photo to painting?”
Generally speaking, close ups make the best paintings. There needs to be lots of detail in the original photograph, and it must be of the highest quality possible.
Can you digitally paint a photo from my facebook page?
Most facebook photos are not high enough quality to paint. It is best to get the original photograph from the photographer to ensure a high end product.
How do I know if my photo is high enough quality?
You can go to our HERE to upload a photo for evaluation. There is no cost or obligation to have your photo evaluated. Simply fill in the form and upload your photo.
